Amid extensive residential and commercial development at Mueller, Austinâ€™s leading mixed-use, mixed-income community has announced Parkside at Mueller, a new condominium development project by Austin- based Pearlstone Partners, and New York-based ATCO Properties and Management. The project will be located at 1701 Simond Avenue in Austin, Texas. Scheduled to break ground in Q2 2021, Parkside at Mueller will add approximately 225,000 square feet of mixed-use development space situated on 1.8 acres bordered by Aldrich St., Mueller Blvd. and Simond Ave. The six-story project consists of 200 for-sale residential units offering a mix of studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom condos ranging from 600 to 1,600 square feet. Of the total, 30 condos, or 15 percent, will be reserved for families who earn up to 80 percent of Austinâ€™s median family income (MFI).

Development continues at Mueller, the 700-acre site of Austinâ€™s former airport, with the announcement of a new office development, which will primarily serve the areaâ€™s ever- expanding medical community. Gemdale USA Corporation, an affiliate of Gemdale Properties & Investments, will develop an approximately 130,000-square-foot, five-story building that will feature its own structured parking garage and a variety of green building elements to help earn the building a LEED-silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.

Closely following the recent opening of Mary Elizabeth Branch Park, this is the latest milestone toward the commitment to deliver 140 acres â€” 20 percent of Mueller â€” as parkland and open space.

The Mueller community today celebrated the grand opening of its newest green space, Mary Elizabeth Branch Park. The new park, named for noted former president of Tillotson College (later Huston-Tillotson University), was commemorated with a ceremony featuring a release of 100 butterflies and remarks from Austin City Council Member Kathie Tovo, current Huston-Tillotson President Dr. Colette Pierce Burnette and Catellus Senior Vice President Ken Blaker.
