At a ceremony during the Greenbuild International Conference and Expo held on Nov. 14, 2018, the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) honored Mueller and the public-private partnership between the City of Austin and Catellus Development Corporation with its prestigious 2018 Leadership Award, an annual recognition of those at the forefront of the green building movement.

AMLI on Aldrich, the multifamily developer’s most recent residential offering located in the center of the mixed-use, mixed-income Mueller community, has earned LEED-Platinum (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

Austinites can look forward to getting their fresh produce and other local or handmade items more often, as the Texas Farmers' Market (TFM) will launch a weekday market in Mueller starting in May. Due to high demand, TFM is expanding to provide a convenient opportunity for those who live, work and play in East Austin to purchase a wide selection of local fare.

Amid new home, apartment, retail and office construction at Mueller, Catellus Development Corp. has selected Austin Modern Lofts to build the next mixed-use residential and retail development near Mueller’s former control tower. Beginning in early 2018, Austin Modern Lofts will break ground on 91 for-sale residential units at the northwest corner of Berkman Drive and Tom Miller Street.

In the summer of 2013, a group of more than 100 Mueller residents staged an “eat-in” at the original Kerbey Lane Cafe to show just how much they were hoping for a Kerbey to open in their burgeoning neighborhood. Four years later, the neighborhood’s dream is coming true—Kerbey Lane Cafe will open in Mueller in the fall of 2018 on Aldrich Street, the neighborhood’s vibrant activity hub featuring a mix of local shops, restaurants, parks, and cultural attractions.

Stantec will occupy most of the second floor and all of the third floor of the “Diamond Building” in Mueller’s Aldrich Street district, located at 1905 Aldrich Street. Stantec’s more than 23,500-square-foot space will accommodate the approximately 150 employees (200 employees at full capacity) who will move from one of Stantec’s offices downtown. The move is anticipated in fall 2017.

The construction of the next public park at Mueller will soon be underway along Aldrich and Philomena streets. Town Center Park will be an active 3.5-acre open space located across from the new Texas Mutual Insurance Companies office and AMLI’s second multifamily community on the northern end of the Aldrich Street mixed-use district.

Aldrich Street, the growing, vibrant activity hub in the heart of the Mueller community, will soon feature two fitness businesses: barre3 and Orangetheory Fitness. These two businesses will operate in the same building as Alamo Drafthouse along Aldrich Street between McBee and Robert Browning streets.
