Texas Farmers’ Market Update – Now with Free Composting

May 31, 2017

Summer is here and local growers who participate in Texas Farmers’ Market at Mueller are ready with a wide variety of produce. The market has also recently launched a community composting initiative, which allows participants to drop off their frozen compost scraps free of charge every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. under the Browning Hangar. The Texas Farmers’ Market will take care of the rest. The program is a joint venture between Texas Farmers’ Market and Joe’s Organics.

Voted Best Farmers’ Market by Austin Chronicle readers since 2014, the Texas Farmers’ Market offers fresh vegetables, artisan foods and beverages. There’s something to sample and savor for everyone. Special events also take place each week. Recently, a mobile petting zoo (Tiny Tails to You) came out for children to enjoy, and live musicians from all over Austin take the stage each week to entertain shoppers. The market’s furry and fluffy visitors can also enjoy canine-catering vendors, like Jake & Blue’s Raw Dog Food. For updates and info, visit the Texas Farmers’ Market on Facebook.
