If you’ve ever been to Ireland, you know pubs are an integral part of the community and culture. If you haven’t been there yet, B.D. Riley’s will give you an authentic sense of what it’s like, without ever stepping on Irish soil.
Proprietor John Erwin didn’t want to open his second pub just anywhere. Following the success of his current Sixth Street location, he strongly desired an additional location that would have a neighborhood feel, much like pubs from across the Atlantic. He quickly discovered Mueller would be the perfect spot due to the community’s family-friendly attractions, balanced with the youthful vibe of city life.
Nearly all of B.D. Riley’s design — from the exterior streetscape to the interior bar — was handcrafted in Dundalk, Ireland and shipped more than 4,600 miles to Austin, to be assembled onsite.
When the pub opens very soon, customers can expect to enjoy the spacious porch, with a front-row seat of the pub’s custom rainwater collection tower, shaped like none other than a 17-foot tall Guinness pint. Inside, a spacious wrap-around bar will accommodate customers from every corner of the restaurant, while a stage will offer entertainment, including live music, pub quizzes and inspirational speakers.
