Enjoy the big screen under the Texas sky this weekend at Mueller’s Movies at Lake Park. The free, family-friendly event will take place at Mueller’s outdoor amphitheater, with popcorn served at 7 p.m. and a screening of Spy Kids starting at dusk. Bring snacks, blankets (no lawn chairs, please) and walk on over to Lake Park for a relaxing Friday night. Free parking will be available in the McBee Parking Garage near Simond Avenue.
Can’t make it this Friday? Have no fear; we’ll screen the 2014 version of Annie next Friday, Oct. 9. Follow Mueller’s Facebook page for more details on both events!
The official city-wide National Night Kick-Off event will take place Saturday, Oct. 3 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Mueller’s Browning Hangar with a BBQ cook off, music and kid’s activities. A wide variety of City of Austin services will be represented and available to provide information and answer your questions. Family favorites include the Austin Police Department helicopter, Austin Fire Department trucks and other emergency teams.
On Tuesday, Oct. 6, turn on your porch lights and spend the evening outside with your neighbors across Austin to celebrate National Night Out on your block.
The local ALS association will host its biggest fundraiser of the year at the Walk to Defeat ALS on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 10 a.m. at Mueller’s Browning Hangar. The funds raised during the three-mile walk will help support research for much of the next year, with the ultimate goal of finding a cure for the disease.
Save the date for this year’s Austin Heart Walk, which will take place on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 8 a.m. at the Long Center. Mueller and Catellus are proud supporters of the annual walk which raises funds for heart disease, stroke research and awareness for cardiovascular health. This year’s event will also include a competitive 5K run. We invite you to join the Mueller team by visiting our team page.
Shine a light on leukemia and lymphoma by participating in the Light the Night Walk on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Browning Hangar. The walk helps raise funds to provide education and services for affected patients and their families.
