A new food trailer is joining Mueller Trailer Eats: Lahleenea (pronounced La Linea) will soon serve Honduran-inspired dishes. Honduran cuisine is a fusion of indigenous Lenca, Spanish, Caribbean and West African influences. Lahleenea’s food is locally sourced when possible and made from scratch daily.
Although the menu changes seasonally, Lahleenea will offer traditional dishes, such as its popular tapado, a combination of coconut-braised beef, chorizo, smoked pork chop and yuca served with white rice, spicy mango and sweet fried plantain. Other dishes will include yachos, which are yuca fries topped with a variety of ingredients; choripan, a latin hotdog; a watermelon ceviche bowl; and desserts like guava cookies and banoffee pie.
Co-owners Alejandra Chi-Ham and Travis Swalbach plan to move their trailer near the Browning Hangar along Airport Blvd. today and open for business in the coming days. They will also offer online ordering. Learn more on Lahleenea’s Instagram and Facebook pages.
