Meet Some of the First Wildflower Terrace Residents

Wildflower Terrace, a 201-unit, mixed-income and mixed-use apartment community for persons age 55 plus, welcomed its first residents last month. We asked two of the new residents Marilyn McCray and Terri Schexnayder to share a little about their Mueller experience:

Meet Wildflower Terrace Resident Marilyn McCray

“A friend had told me about Wildflower Terrace and I was excited about the possibilities of living in such a great building in Mueller. I love seeing the skyline from my balcony. There are so many thoughtful touches in the property. I’m looking forward to teaching art classes for the residents. I have wanted to live at Mueller for a few years. I love the concept of the redevelopment. I had done marketing for a client with a green-built property, so I was familiar with sustainability. Now it is great to really walk the talk. I was convinced this was a great place to live. I love the central location. Every day, I can be found on the Greenway headed toward the lake. I just love having a trail right outside my door!”

“Wildflower Terrace is a top notch, high quality affordable housing option. I appreciate the opportunity to live with like-minded adults, 55-plus. I will be teaching creative writing classes [at Wildflower Terrace] in the spring and really look forward to meeting more residents and getting involved in the Wildflower and Mueller communities. Mueller is a great place for walking around the lakes and greenways. I love the diversity of the area and sharing so many great outdoor activities with others, just steps from my door. And, I can walk to retail, restaurants and my church. Mueller is very centrally located - easy to get around town without ever having to get on I-35!”
