The Mueller Affordable Homes Program
Mueller is a community with a vision of being a place where all types of people from all walks of life can live, work, shop and play. Over the decades-long history of Mueller, as it's moved from vision to reality, a key component has been affordable and workforce housing that creates income diversity and vitality.
That's the genesis of the Affordable Homes Program, which includes one-quarter of all Mueller houses, condos and apartments — more than 1,100 homes — reserved for households below Austin's median income. That means Mueller can be home to:
- First-time homebuyers
- Working families building their financial stability
- Seniors on fixed incomes and persons with disabilities
- Teachers, nurses, police officers, firefighters and other essential service professions
- And others who thought they'd never be able to afford a home in Central Austin
General Eligibility - For-Sale Homes

- Must obtain Income Eligibility Certification from Lender stating that household income and assets meet the Mueller Affordable Homes Program Income & Asset Guidelines and is at or below 80% of the Median Family Income for Austin area as published annually by HUD. Please use the Income Estimation Calculator in the right-hand box to estimate your income.
- Please be advised that if down payment is less than 5% of the purchasing price, buyer may be required to attend a homebuyer education class by the lender
