This fall, Catellus will set the stage for 221 single-family homes just east of Mueller’s future town center. A wide variety of home types including Yard Houses, Row Houses, Courtyard Row Houses, Mueller House condominiums and a completely new home type, Shop Houses, will be built by David Weekley Homes, Standard Pacific Homes, Streetman Homes and a fourth builder to be announced in the coming months. This new section of homes will be bordered by Philomena, Mattie and Simond Streets along Berkman Drive.
Catellus plans to break ground on the new roads, utilities and lots this fall 2011. The new section of homes will be bordered by Philomena, Mattie and Simond streets along Berkman Drive. Weather permitting, the homebuilders should begin construction of their homes in summer 2012 with the first move-ins before the end of 2012.
Homes from each builder named will be part of the Mueller Affordable Homes Program, which provides an opportunity for homebuyers who earn 80 percent or less of Austin’s median family income to purchase a home that’s just three miles from downtown Austin.
With the addition of the new Courtyard Row Houses and Shop Houses, Mueller will have nine distinct homes types within the community. The 221 homes will bring the total residences at Mueller to more than 1,600, including Mueller’s first single-family neighborhood, the 441-unit Mosaic Apartments, the 34-unit Greenway Lofts and the 201-unit Wildflower Terrace.
